Carmen is the picture person at BranderKemp. Her career began in the fast paced world of newspapers and magazines. (Most notably, as Art Director of Scope magazine in the 80's. That usually gets a smile from the older gents.) She spent a few years managing the pre-press department of a large commercial printer before opening her own design studio. Carmen likes clean and neat, easy-to-read design. She loves good typography and is crazy about colour. So when she met Garth Kemp, a repro rep who offered outstanding client service, and found out he is a colour specialist, she simply had to have him. And so was borne BranderKemp.
As a top adman, Garth Kemp's experience spans most aspects of the advertising and printing industry. He is the 'big picture' person at BranderKemp and manages sales teams, supports technical queries and panders to the needs of creatives, all to ensure that the project at hand delivers nothing less than the best. Above all, Garth is an event nut! His passion for event management secured him as project co-ordinator for the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup for host city Cape Town. With this world-class experience he is back in the real world, offering his expertise to our valued clients.
We have designed and won accolades for international showstands. We have co-ordinated world-class events. We have designed the corporate identity for a division of the world's largest mining company. We have organised entertainment and events for one of the world's largest casino operators. And we have encouraged a retired school teacher to pursue her dream and become a successful business woman in her autumn years. We have illustrated a book of short stories for a ninety-five year old gentleman. We have set up programmes and projects for vulnerable children.
Our clients have included individuals and small businesses as well as corporates, government departments and multi-nationals. We have been entrusted with top secret and high value projects - photographing rare and expensive items, managing confidential print runs under constant supervision; and we have managed brands from cell phone giants to the corner grocer. Our various outdoor events which saw visitation numbers from 10,000 to 150,000 were all handled by Garth Kemp and his team and although I am sure there must have been problems, I was totally oblivious to them which is testimony to the skills and dedication of Garth and his team.
